Black Cherry Tomatoes & Pineapple

It's been 2 weeks since I sowed my fist batch of Black Cherry Tomatoes, and I'm happy to report that they have officially sprouted! Three of them sprouted this past Friday, and the last one of the original four sprouted this morning.
So, all in all, it's been about two weeks. They've been in the window above the heating vent during the day, and on the end table with the light on at night. I also was a bit impatient last week and sowed four more batches, so I won't sow anymore again until the end of the month. Otherwise, if they all sprout, I won't have enough room to plant them out.

A few weeks ago (probably three weeks, I'd guesstimate), I also started "growing" my first pineapple! No, not from seed; from a grocery store pineapple. Cut off the flesh and take off the first 2-3 rows of leaves. Then, submerge the bottom in water.

I was a little concerned it wasn't going to do well because of how brown the top leaves are, but it just goes to show that even though you think a plant might be dead, it could still make it because you can see the roots growing from the bottom. Once those have grown to 3-5 inches, I'll take it out of the water and plant it in a pot. Fair warning though: pineapples take YEARS to grow, so I won't see the literal fruits of this labor for a very long time.
I'll keep you all updated on its progress periodically, as well as the Black Cherry Tomatoes and if I plant anything new this week. Until next time, happy gardening! :)
